Today I got two whopping shots of Estrodial and Progesterone in oil, before 7 am! I have always tolerated the shots well in the past, but this last week...the pain! Did I grow extra nerves? Yikes. This morning was especially bad. I got one in each cheek. Every time I lean back in my chair...yowza. Transfer on Friday, if "the one who waits" defrosts without arresting. I still have my doubts. Fingers crossed.
Last year at this time we were gearing up for our IVF in December. It turned out to be a very depressing Christmas and New Year. This year I want something more!

The shots suck. I'm sorry you're having the pain. Have you tried ice for 10 minutes first, and then a heating pack on the PIO shot afterwards? Also, warm the PIO in the vial in your bra, or in the syringe in your hand - it thins the oil and makes it hurt less.
I always microwaved a wet washcloth for about 30 seconds to make it fairly hot but not hot enough to burn me. I let the microwave run while my husband gave me the shot and then put it on the shot area afterward until the heat was gone. It seemed to help.
My doctor has changed his protocol, and he doesn't require PIO anymore. I was able to use Crinone gel instead for my last two FETs. Is that an option? It's not even as messy as I remember it to be.
