Is it Time to Leave Blogger?

I was thinking about making some changes to my blog when it occurred to me that I might want to leave Blogger. Blogger and I have only had conflicts...a few times. Overall, it's been a good relationship and it's free. However, Blogger is limited. I want to password protect some posts or archive OFF some old posts (but not delete them forever) and I can't do that with Blogger. It's all or nothing at all. That kind of relationship is just to rigid for me. I need flexibility.

So I decided to bring my questions to you...since collectively you all have a variety of blog service experiences. Here are the questions. Anyone can play!

What do you think about your blog service?
Did you ever switch services and why?
Was it hard/easy to switch?
What do you hate about your service?
What do you love about your service?
Do you pay for service or is yours free?
If you pay, how much? (If you don't mind me asking. Ballpark is fine.)
Can you e-mail entries to your blog or do you have to log-in to post?
Anything else?

Thanks for any input!!!

I switched from Blogger to wordpress because of some of the same issues you have. There is the free version of wordpress which has some of what you want (password protection of selected posts, emailing of entries) and then you can pay for more advanced features. I just use the free version. It was really easy to switch and I could transfer all my old archives to wordpress. Since Blogger is free, I still have that account, but I only post new things to my wordpress blog.

I like wordpress better than blogger. It gives me a little more flexibility and I know if I want more, I can always decide to pay for more function. Can't say I love or hate anything about it, it does pretty much what I want it to do. I would just go check it out since it's free and try it for awhile and see what you think!

I want to switch to wordpress. Blogger is annoying. It doesn't let you do squat. I don't know much about wordpress, but I know it lets you password protect things. What I like about blogger is the simplistic setup. Once I looked into switching to wordpress but the variety of choices for format/layout was totally overwhelming and I was like "forget it." I hate fussing around with that stuff.
