It's been 5 days. I have had twinges, etc. but nothing that I didn't experience with the other two failed IVFs. I'm not reading anything into it. Tomorrow I will have the first beta...but they wont tell me what it is. This is a strange practice at this clinic. First they draw beta #1 (at 6dp5dt) and freeze it. Then they draw beta #2 48 hours later (at 8dp5dt), thaw out beta #1 and call with the bad news the evening of the second draw. Oops, well I have always gotten bad news so I don't know any other system.
The two things that are odd to me are first, that test pretty darn early...6dp and 9dp. Don't you think? Secondly, they don't tell you the beta #1 number because they don't even check it, they just freeze it. So you are just sitting around waiting for a yes or a no. Maybe if I got a BFP they would tell me the numbers...don't know.
What I was pondering today is...is there any difference between a 3dt and a 5dt blast when it comes to betas? I am assuming that it doesn't matter. When/if implantation occurs, that's when your body starts producing those special hormones and it has nothing to do with the age of the embryo.
So Saturday night I will either be stunned with the news of a BFP, or I will be drinking a chocolate vodka martini (or two).

I am not sure what your clinics reasons are for freezing the first blood draw and processing it with the 2nd one...who knows! As far as the early tests, I think they calculate the "ovulation" date as the egg retrieval date, so 6dp5dt would be equivalent to 11dpo and 8dp5dt would be equivalent to 13dpo and those should be late enough for an accurate test. Good luck!!
Good luck! I'm surprised they don't wait for a later test too.
I'm surprised they test so early, and it is definitely weird. But something VERY important to know - don't think about drinking the choco martinis right away if the betas are negative. FETs are notorious late implanters, and sometimes don't show positive betas until the equivalent of 16 or even 18 days past ovulation (would be 11 or 13 days past 5 day transfer).
Oh - and about your tire, WTF???? People absolutely suck some times.
Those beta dates seem way early to me, especially for a FET (for reasons roni mentioned). But I'm sure it is not a problem, because it will just mean the HCG levels will be there but will be lower, since implantation occured more recently.
5 day blasts have better implantation rates from what I understand, but the beta is entirely dependant upon when that little sucker implants.
