The last few days have been a roller coaster. Yes, I have realized that my purpose in life is to imatate a human amusement park...exciting, scary, eat too much cotton candy, and throw up.
The Bad News
After my RE visit, I didn't hear back from the clinic. I called. I left a message for my newly assigned coordinator...nada. On Monday evening at 4:45 pm I called again and got a hold of her. She had no idea that I was starting a cycle. She said she would be happy to set up my US. After I explained that we already did all that and I was expecting my perscriptions, she went into full-on air traffic controller mode, very stressed but high functioning.
The Good News
In 15 minutes she got every thing set up because she was going on vacation the next day and would be gone for 8 days. Whew!! Close call...but I wonder about that place...too many disconnections.
The Bad News
My parents, my SIL, and my niece have been trapped in a high school gym since being evacuated in San Diego. There are no accessible roads out. They are in a remote area of northern San Diego county that is getting little press. I have been on the phones and Internet for 3 days trying to get status reports and information about a second evacuation, away from the high school. The fire is 2...YES 2...miles away from the school.
The Good News
Today the police offered a one time escort out and into Escondido (which recently got its fire contained). My parents took it. Only 3 cars left.
The Bad News
My SIL and niece stayed behind. I have no idea why my SIL would choose to stay behind. My niece is 22 and has been helping the Red Cross clean bathrooms and stock the school every night until 2 or 3 in the morning. She's amazing.
The Good News
The fire in northern LA county where my brother lives is out.
The Good News in Summary
My family is going to be okay.
I start Lupron today.
Some women I met at a Girl Scout training meeting thought I was 32! They're my new best friends!
I'm a lucky girl.

Wow, what a scary time. My family is in San Diego too but they did not get evacuated. I'm glad your family is ok.
I can't believe the clinic was so clueless. It really is unacceptable that you have to update them on the plan for you. That is their job. Well I'm glad it was taken care of and you can finally start your Lupron.
I'm so glad that your family is ok. How incredibly frightening, for them and for you.
And I agree with peep - unacceptable and unbelievable how inept your clinic is here. At least it's worked out and you can move ahead.
whoa daisy, that's quite a post. Really glad to hear your family is ok and you are moving forward with the next attempt.
(Isn't it so funny how we're like," In xx days, I get to start Lupron!" Like it's some sort of treat!!! We might as well say, "in 2 days I am getting a root canal! Yes!"
very much the roller coaster ride...
glad that everyone is ok and the best news that you are starting your cycle! well that and your new best friends you think your 32!
