Just a quick post to say that I have been MIA because we attended a BIG birthday bash for my mother last week. Over 100 people came from all over the country to celebrate with her. I helped organize the event that lasted 4 days. My favorite part was the 4 hour entertainment/talent show dinner. It was spectacular. Our youngest danced to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy all by herself on a huge stage. Everybody was great.
I anxiously awaited AF who was due to arrive on the 26th or 27th but she was a no show. I am so unamused with recent AF events. I think today is the day...but I am still waiting. I have always been a 25 day cycle girl but now today is cd 29. Hmm.
Our donor is synchronizing her cycle to mine, I will not be taking any BCPs. That is why I am so stressed about AF.
Does anyone know of this type of protocol? Where the donor synchronized to the recipient? If so, how did it go? I read something about this on a blog a long time ago and cannot find it now. I will keep looking.
Thank for your comments on Pool Party Gossip. I feel better and much more prepared in general. Many things happened in the DE IVF blog world since I went on holiday and I have to say that I feel deeply saddened by the loss some have recently experienced. I am also elated by my fellow bloggers who are on the other side of TCC. I wish I could reach out and hug you all. I wish you peace.

My RE always has my donor synchronize to my cycle. Well, if "always" means that's how we did it the first time. I'm the infertile one, why mess with my creaky old messed-up hormones? And I get nasty ugly depressed on BCPs so I won't take them. Hope yours goes well.
I guess they wait till you bleed, and when your baseline is Ok, your donor starts her stims? That's what happened with us, although we were on BCPs, Hobbesy didn't expect to bleed (mirena coil) and she adjusted to fit me.. AF was late for me too, and then my lining was slow to thin.
There's no down-regging involved for you?
My donor synched to my cycle also. And I'm a 28 day girl and the cycle with which I conceived (and in South Africa, no less) ended up being a 39 day cycle, so I was totally flipping out, considering that we'd have to change our flight arrangements, accomodations, not to mention that I was flipping about my donor and her stims, etc. The RE was totally unconcerned, said no problem it would all work out and the donor would start her stims after my cycle began. And it all worked out - I'm looking at my proof of that, whining on his daddy's lap :)
I did down regulate (not sure whether you will - just commenting on DG's comment) - started my lupron right after my cycle began.
So that's my long winded way of saying that it will all be ok, and having the donor synch with you is really the best way since you are the one that needs to lead the parade.
And the party sounds like it was fabulous!
For my first DE cycle (and this one so far), we synchronized together on BCP's, once that happens we down regulate, have a baseline, and then I start estrace and she starts stims.
Sounds like the party was great!
