The Count is In!

Today was retrieval day. They retrieved 39 eggs. Thirty plus nine! I asked if there was an over stimulation problem and they said, uh no. Holy shit! I'm in shock still. Disbelief!! Twenty of those eggs are now ours. Of the twenty 16 are mature. The embryologist said that since we are not using ICSI, if immature eggs mature in the next 24 hours and there is sperm around we might even get a higher count of fertilization. The report will be tomorrow.

In other news, my ass is killing me from the shots. I'm more sensitive than I was the last 600 times. I'm off to a warm bath.

Cheers and hugs to you sweeties...and thank you for the comments too.

Twenty.

Really?

Wow, you did just as well as you would have done if you weren't sharing. Wonderful news!

Sorry for the double comment, but I forgot to add -- I used to microwave a wet washcloth for about 30 seconds(?) while my husband was giving me the shot. I put it on the injection spot until it wasn't hot anymore. It seemed to help a little bit.

My injection sites still hurt, and I'm almost 21 weeks you-know-what. Do I care? Not a lot. Really hoping for you!

Your donor must be young - what a great egg count and great news for you!

Holy Crap!!! How fantastic!!!

My tip for PIO - sat on ice for 10-15 minutes, warmed the vial in my bra to thin the oil out, and then immediately after the shot my hubby massaged the spot with a microwaved hot pack for about 5 minutes, rubbing vigorously to dissapate. And it still freaking hurt, but was more managable.

Another holy crap on the egg count - that is just oustanding!!!!
