How to speed up your donor egg cycle, in one easy step

Start your cycle 3 days early. Viola! Three days less to wait. Theoretically anyway.

I will have to be synchronized with the ED (egg donor) and OR (other recipient). My cycle has been normal since the big bleed, thank goodness, but this month it decided to kick it up a few days and start early. No big deal right? The worst that can happen is that the fertility center will have to re-do all the scheduling. We are two months out, so that's still okay.

I really cannot believe that this is going to happen. I'm back in surreal mode. Out of all of the cycles, all of the timing, over the last 6 years, this is probably the worst time for us to be launching an IVF and possible pregnancy, really it is. But we don't get to pick do we? That's part of the pain of this IF journey, you can't count on a damn thing. Do I sound bitter? I am. Not totally bitter, but in a "We are not amused" sort of way.

I'm not as good at documenting all of the stops along the way on this journey as some of my other blogger sisters, but suffice it to say, we have been through a lot...been through enough. Please let this be the one.

Let me give you a little insight to the donors of the moment. (Dating Game theme music starts here.)

Our bachelorette is originally from California, this 23 year old, 5'4" blond haired blue-eyed beauty is athletic and sorta smart. This will be her 5th donation cycle, serving the needs of over 7 recipients. She produces good strong eggs and has a real knack for super-cycling. She likes tennis, cycling (I think I mentioned that), camping, shooting up with hormones, and long walks on the beach. Out of her 5 past recipients 4 recipients went on to strong healthy betas.

Now, let's meet our bachelor. He hails from California as well, he is a 6'5" financial analysts brown hair and brown eyed, with a background in business strategy. A strapping and athletic young man he enjoys swimming, swimming, and target practice. Although he has played this game before he is back (for round ??#??)...or until the vials are gone.

Our lucky winners will be spending quality time in...the tech lab. That's right Bob, they will be whisked away to spend time in a romantic, dimly lit, cozy petrie dish, with a full staff to cater to their every need. Then, they will fly first-class on Catheter Air Lines, where they will jettison into Daisy's Uterus. A warm and glowing reception will await them as the nestle in for as long as they want*.

*40 week maximum. Limits, restrictions, and exclusions may apply.

Let's give them a big hand and wish them all the best of luck!

That was very funny!!!

I do have to say, though, that I understand what you have been, and are continuing to go, though. It is a long and bitter journey - that is the right word. But I just hope and pray that this is the start of the best part of that journey.

Your donors sound stellar, and I couldn't be more excited for you!

Thanks for making me smile!

I know all about the annoyance with timing - our DE cycle was just scheduled for the only month that I have - i mean had- travel plans for the next year. Oh well - so it goes.

Good luck to your dating game extrodinaire!

hilarious post. I think if anything, DE cycles strengthen senses of humor. One step closer, Daisy!
